Anyone after some of the G-Form knee or elbow pads, have both in medium (all black) unworn and still in packaging. Very good pads, as used by Ste, Neil and Salman...

How much are you wanting for the G-Form knees Andy? I might be interested at the end of the month if they fit nice.

I have a set of brand new Crud Roadracer mk2s I can't use - £10 or swap/part-ex for something maybe? I need an 8spd road cassette/new chains/road brake blocks...

But most of all I need to try bleeding my Shimano M596! Lost power halfway through Llandegla so I sent it back to Planet X, got it back yesterday and it's even worse - no resistance on the lever at all! Wondering if they just emptied what fluid was in there. Very sad :( Anyone happen to have a compatible bleed kit I can borrow? Current options are to put faith in their ability to sort it third time around, splash out on a bleed kit and hope it's not a more serious fault or wait until Sunday and bleed it just before I ride Hebden's most terrifying trails and hope it's not a more serious fault.

On One 456 XT build: £1000 ex-review bike (RRP £1600), which was 'fully health checked by our professional bike mechanics and ready to ride'. Apparently worn front pads that do nowt but squeal doesn't stop you from going straight out and riding DH. Seems they didn't really check the rear brake either. May have been discounted £600 but it's still £1000 wasted if I can't ride the fuckin ting!

Sorry, I know it's the wrong forum really but you're all such lovely, helpful people...

Bleeding should be pretty cheap and easy, all you need is a length of tube, a bottle and some mineral oil.

Thanks Rob, hung it from a rack while I started to fit Lewis' Juicy and it sorted itself out. Worked fine for all of our Hebden ride today do hopefully won't catastrophically fail on m in the future... Not totally confident but will see.

Monsieur_Chien

Was planning on playing but stupid busy at mo' and I haven't gotten around to getting the TrailStar poloified. I'll nip down on the 456 and you can be wowed by the sheer awesomeness. 'Tis truly a thing of beauty.

Not sure about freewheels, it has two wee indents on the outer face which I presume are how you remove it... I ain't hip or ster enough to know or care for SS. I'll bring the new one down so you can check it.

snottyotter
snottyotter's picture

Sweet, I'll grab a couple of tools, if it's 2 prong then I hope the one I have fits, I've got you some chain too.

I have a freewheel I think is 18t and a definite 18t that was skipping a bit, should be fine for trying stuff out and some on one forks that you can borrow.

snottyotter
snottyotter's picture
