Can we discuss what coaching and training requirements are amongst the group - split yourselves into less than 1 year/more than 1 year for the purpose please.
BTW - How many of you regularly do solo polo drills or exercises?

I've noticed some new players are focusing on blocking, be it riding with people to take them out the game, reserve t-boning or jumping your back wheel back into people. This is a part of the game (for the time being, new rules may outlaw this) but perhaps we should get back to basis. Walk before you can run an all that ;)
Practice dribbling, shooting, passing, turning on a dime, bike control - once you've got that down then move on to more advanced stuff like playing on your opposite side etc
Mirek can help dissuade folk from blocking badly :-p
just watched Brighton polo and will try to hopping as im thinking that hopping is a good tactic(blocking + rapid turn ) ... but i dont know how to hop .. i will try
^ Me too - going to try to endure clipless polo on the Joust... the hurt locker beckons!
Hopping is all well and good but you need to be able to stay on when still first, that's why I rarely hop despite being clipped in.^^
^ You also get tired when you hop too much.
I get tired.
I need to work on my balance when I'm in goal before starting to hop about there. Going to try and improve the accuracy of my passing too.
And cornering at speed/with someone
^ yeah me too i cant move while im standing at goal so goalie needs skill too
For me it's blocking shots and then recovering quickly. Fed up with Rob and Chan scoring though my bb
Hit them in the face with you mallet.
#Secretgoalieskillz
I will fall down gently , dont touch me and my bike while im a goal keeper #i wish it happened
Tum, just practice going forward and backwards with your mallet on the floor, then practice lifting it up for short amounts of time and then make the time gradually longer. Then try the above gradually more drunk.
best advice ive heard in a while :D besides that passing and receiving the ball is a bitch for me, need a 2nd for that.
Or a wall?
not much fun..
