Polo camp

Hey guys

Was wondering if anyone fancied a polo camp in the algarve?

There's still only 4 of us down here and always trying to recruit noobs. So I was thinking, we have a huge selection of courts to play, it's always sunny, there's beaches and it's cheap.

If you wanted to rustle up a group of players who fancied a holiday with polo we can accommodate a bit of polo fun here

Thoughts anyone??

I am doing a tourney here on the 1st May but it's the nationals to find who goes to the crazy town of Zaragoza!

I'm organising the Portuguese nationals for the 1,2,3 May and will be lots of opportunities to play as the other year we did it in a day, not many teams!! So this would be a good holiday with polo bike of you fancy it??

update... So I have the amazing court for 3 days with showers, lights and camping in an amazing alternative little Portuguese village to do the nationals. After speaking with the community over here there will be about 7 teams battling for Zaragoza which we can do in 1 day! I'm just wondering if there would be much interest in the UK community to have the first algarve open over the same weekend. flights are cheap'ish, around £60> and its nice weather too..

We are proud to present the first 'end of europe bike polo camp' 2015, Baroa de sao joao is where Algarve bike polo was born in 2013. It is a very lively small village set in the beautiful western Algarve with a fantastic array of colourful bars and cafes. The idea for the weekend is to play out the National tournament on the friday for our entry to Zaragoza and then playing swiss rounds/elimination or bench tournament on the Saturday and Sunday depending on number of subscriptions. We are a very small polo scene down here comprising of around 4 players at most and the objective other than having an amazing weekend of Polo in the sun, is to raise awareness to attract some new players to the sport down here. We don’t play enough games!!

As we are such a small community its hard to offer the usual housing plans but its not called a camp for nothing! We have free camping at one of our players land about 1.5km from the court, there is space for a good amount of tents but please reserve your space early. There is only a dry compost loo and cold water available but warm showers are available at the court.

Local accommodation:

Monte Rosa offers guest rooms and small wooden cabins located 2km from the court, speak to Sandra or Teo.

Local English guy has 2 appartments available in Baroa Sao Miguel, 2 beds etc (next village) call phil 916954815, apparently its really nice and can sleep up to 5 in each

Food:
Several places to eat in the village and 2 mini mercados for your other needs. There will be a BBQ at the court side and have arrangements for group food at local venues both friday/saturday night.

Location: Barao De Sao Joao, Lagos, Algarve, Portugal

Transport:

Flights to Faro Airport, suggest a taxi to train station (8euro) or dodgy bike ride about 4/5km www.skyscanner.com

Train to Lagos (6euro) if travelling from the north by train you will come in to Tunes and can change there to Lagos www.cp.pt

I've ordered a polo bus to have pick up available from Lagos Train station once we have everyone’s schedules, might have to ask for small contribution to this service ;)

by car you will end up on the A22 motorway at some point coming from either north or east, follow it all the way to the end, take the first right at the roundabout, follow the road (N120) through Bensafrim for about 1 km, take the signposted left turn towards barao de sao joao, roughly 4 km.

By boat you can moor in Lagos marina which is located in from of the train station and use the Polo bus from there.
