Reffing at PH

What with the increasing role of the referee in polo and the ever-tweaked ruleset(s), do we think we should/could promote reffing and reffing abilities at our regular throw-ins...? If we did I think it'd promote better all round play; minimise confrontations; allow us to play harder and fairer; add to MCR players credibility and confidence to ref at tournaments. Of course it relies on the refs decisions being treated with some respect to work - that's down to the players on court.

I'm happy to bring down the ref-perch and whistle if there are more than a few interested to ref games on an ongoing basis. Anyone happy to trial for a few weeks?

+1 would ref.

Is an appropriate ladder available? Attaching one to the fence using Karabinas would stop it from falling over or vanishing during a session.

Let's try tonight, ref on court would be ok for now

If I make it down (probably will), then we can have 2 v 2 + ref. I agree with Neil. I think it's a good idea to have a ref when possible as it will familiarise beginner/ignorant players with the rules, and more importantly, give players practice reffing, and confidence reffing at tourneys.
