Polo Family BMX Fun Days

Colin and I were talking about checking out the BMX track at the velodrome. I haven't checked how booking works and stuff, just thought I'd gauge interest here first.

I've never been on a BMX bike, let alone a track. This is going to be *hilarious*.

Yeah, this has been discussed and should be done.

Went there a while back to try it out, absolutely brilliant fun, totally up for another go on the track, really fast and a total laugh.

I checked some time ago how booking works. You need fill the registration form and send it to them. Then you have to do the introduction session that is about 10£ (bike and helmet included) and 2 hours, and then I think for 7£ (bike and helmet included) you can go to practice on the open public times.

I'm definitively in for that. I did the registration form but I didn't go to the sessions.

The Platt Fields track may be cheaper but you should avoid being ejected by security after being climbing over after hours, it's not something we can recommend or condone.

Great idea Em, when do security knock off?

I'd be up for a BMX blast once the wrist is signed off. If it happens before then I'll gladly turn up and play photographer.

I forget who it is but one of the guys on LFGSS just did the coaching qual there and now does some of the induction sessions.

They have a little van and do patrols all eve. I'll have a look at Cringle and see if they've finished the surface yet. It's not as big as PF but it's not behind a fence.
