Format
A North versus South team invitational featuring 7 regular 3 person teams on each side.
North comprising of teams/players from Birmingham up to Glasgow and even I
South comprising of London-based players and teams from Brighton.
Teams play for points across the weekend to decide whether the North or the South are the overall tournament champs:
– Individual teams can score 14 points for finishing top of the Swiss round qualification (regular 10 minute polo, first to 5) on Saturday followed by 11 for second etc. down to 1 point for 14th place in the ranking.
– The Bench Minor on Saturday evening (after the Swiss rounds) is only for the top 4 Swiss rounds ranked teams from the North, playing as a 12 man squad, versus the top 4 ranked teams from the South – 45 minutes on court, all players must play, all players are on court in 5 minute blocks. Captains and VCs are to delegate managers who will be responsible for player records/timekeeping.
15 points to the winning bench and 0 to the losers.
– Sunday is teams double elimination (regular 10 minute polo, unlimited goals, with 15 minute final/s) with 28 points to the overall winners; 26 second; 24 third etc. down to 2 points for the final placing. NB. Goal difference from Saturday Swiss matches will be the deciding factor to differentiate drawn teams on Sunday.
– Sunday the event closes with the final Bench Minor featuring the bottom 3 teams from North and the South (from the Saturday Swiss rounds ranking table) - 15 points to the winning bench and 0 to the losers.
– All points tallied from the two days decide the overall champions – so there is everything to play for from Saturday right down the final Bench on Sunday.

Refereeing: Each team is obliged to nominate one referee at registration - they will be responsible for attending the referee briefing and go into the referee pool. The 14 man pool will be managed by a ref whip and each ref will be advised of the games they are responsible for at least one game in advance. Goal officials will be appointed as we go.
Accommodation: Manchester has nearly completed our housing management and we are confident we can sort everyone. You or your team will be advised via PM in the next 7 days of your offer and location.

Can anyone tell me whether Drew or Sal still play polo/are intending to play in this tournament? South are a team down as it is so we may benefit from withdrawals at this stage.
