1. Rob
2. Neil
3. Alan (blocker)
4. Andy
5. Arthur (goalie)
6. Joe
7. Chan
8.John ( if we only get one entry for MHBP then slot in Sheffield with my name??)
So? Some sort of blind vote where we all pick our prefered 3 team mates and votes are compiled to pick an anonymous top 4? Picking what you think would be the best team with you in, not the best players, although there may be crossover. Or should we get people not on the list to pick their best teams and do the same? Or both?
I don't have a view - I'd just like to get it sorted as soon as so I can book me holidays! On the one hand it makes sense for all MHBP regulars to vote (if interested) as it's a representative team; on the other, that may take time to organise/collate. Kinda like Rob's picking the best three that play in a team with you. Maybe, as there are 8, whatever team is decided by whatever method, the remaining four get to have some sort of play-off - winners go to FB...
Here's my Rob Method selection FWIW:
Sweeper - Andy
Midfield - Neil
Left Wing - Chan
Right Wing - Rob
^^ I don't see it as a 'vote' as such if players are proposing the team they think they would play best in. Therefore does it not follow that the order is irrelevant too? Why would one change their best team because they saw others teams listed? Of course I understand that the four most voted for players may not actually play well together - that's the main compromise here.
If it's to be a more a social/best buddies team then let's call it that from the outset and sidestep the representative element or, to pay homage to Alan, in the interests of sending a happy team I'll step aside... ;-)
Anyone any better ideas to proffer? Bottle spinning?
I'm not too bothered if it's just a discussion, I'd already picked the same team as you. Just nice to keep things fair if there is some kind of voting going on whatever it is, even if it's unlikely to be abused, might help if there is some sort of tye too.
You reckon we can find a bigger court for the day? That one behind rusholme? Or there's a big area in a school sports place near me, maybe those courts we were looking at part fencing as big tournament spots?
We could but it might cost money. Depends what people fancy doing. Another option would be to play on kids bikes to make the court look bigger than it is
We could hopefully sort out a few hours between 8 or so of us pretty cheap, could even get more people to play if they want to try the format but not the tournament.
Eldest I reckon.
Looks like I'll be out either way. Haha
John - is there only 1 team allowed ? Do we know who is oldest? tallest may be easier to establish ?
Rob let me know if we can use a sheffield entry too ?
I dunno yet, see if you can get a team together and then you can send a bid off when they're being accepted, might get a spot.

Think a vote put to all mhbp peeps leave it open a couple days.....Best team.
Or maybe do it on longest hair.
Can we have a night where the 8 people on the list all play different combos of 4v4 and see how it works?
Only people going should have a say/vote/drawing straws. This way I don't need to bribe everyone else...
Bit harsh on Arthur... Don't think I've ever seen him take his hat off...

I was gonna suggest keeping it anonymous and then getting either me, or someone not playing to add it all up.
Why anonymous?
Because the last 1 (maybe 2) people to vote effectively decides the team that is going, even if they themselves are guaranteed not to go.
In the interests of sending a strong team am happy to step aside.
Voting innit, always fairer anonymous.

I'll join Alan's line dancing team

Lets just do a 4v4 tournament this week or next? It'll be more fun than voting.
That's what I said!!!
I think most facial hasn't been given a consideration yet.
Facial......hair

That's what I was gonna type before I got all serious.

Confirmed!
I propose a chan/Neil/Andy/me team if everyone is still interested. We should sort this out quickly and get in a team proposal ASAP.
