New goals

For what it's worth - making the current goals cost me over £60 two years back. Actually good value considering how long they have lasted - but not worth spending any more on them/remaking the same weaknesses. I support the metal custom-made goals option - need to check on the fixings for the netting. Will the net be shock-corded or zip tied?

Depending on what Landslide's netting is like zip ties might be the quick, easiest and most maintainable solution. I'm not really sure how shock cord would attach to around the frame, but could be used between the top/back corners as it currently is to hold shape.

I have a lot of crap webbing that could be stitched over the back/bottom of the netting (a bit like the goals at the worlds) and then eyeleted for easy zip tie-ing.

If the zip ties go around the base/floor poles completely they make the goals more likely to move around (as though on runners). If we can create loops attached to insides of the steelwork then we can avoid this.

We might be ok, the fittings at the corners fit over the tubes so there should (in theory) be a tiny gap for the zip ties.

If the corner fittings introduce any slippyness we could counteract this by wrapping them with old inner tubes as a cheap/easily replaceable fix...

themetalstore.co.uk seems like a good move. Artistically I like the abstract welded bike frames though i tend to die quite often and for me safety comes first...We should play the a-team theme tune as the nets are built...

as cool as the bike tubes idea sounds id rather have proper custom goals, that £8 a head doesnt sound too bad to be honest considering itll be done for good. we should organize an alley cat when it gets a bit warmer? with a little exhibition or something to get some money to contribute?

Once Ste's better and we get money in for the hoodies/tshirts, we should have enough for the goals and possibly even covering the back of the goals with boards (about £180 from the list at the moment).

Building up some funds through an alleycat would be good it'll can help cover the remaining maintenance on the side boards as well as making up some proper corner boards and other bits and pieces.

Im not sure of the net dimensions (and the price for that matter) but they used these guys for Krakows polo championships. Might be worth a check?
